The life changing phone hack

I came across an article a couple of months that suggested a phone hack. I didn’t think much of it initially but I decided to give it a try, and the results were immediate and significant. In the first month I saw a 20% reduction in weekly screen time and the following month I saw a 28% reduction in screen time. I also found myself less distracted by my phone and and as a result my focus and productivity at work went through the roof.

In the modern workplace no matter your industry, job or title we are constantly fighting phone addiction which is destroying our attention, productivity and focus.

Greyscale mode removes the colours on your phone to make them less addicting and appealing. (As seen below)

To turn on grey scale mode follow these steps:

If you have an iPhone:

1.       Settings

2.       Accessibility

3.       Display & Text Size

4.       Colour Filters -> On

5.       Grayscale

If you want to be able to toggle it on and off easily, you can create a simple shortcut:

1.       Settings

2.       Accessibility

3.       Accessibility Shortcut

4.       Colour Filters

If you triple-click the side button, you'll be able to toggle Grayscale on and off.

For non-iPhone users...

Grayscale Mode on Samsung Galaxy :

Grayscale Mode on Google Pixel

Try this for a week and turn on greyscale mode when you’re working and I can almost guarantee, you will see a significant reduction in daily screen time and be less distracted by your phone.

And as a bonus for parents: Your phone is immediately less interesting and addicting for your kids.

Give it a go for a week. It is a massive life hack.
